Matter and Shape Paris 2026

Matter and Shape is a Paris design salon founded in 2024 that presents contemporary collectible design during Paris Fashion Week, staging each edition inside a different landmark setting rather than a fixed trade-fair hall, with the 2026 edition marking its third year.

The salon deliberately blurs the line between a gallery show and a trade fair, gathering a curated mix of established design houses, independent craftspeople and emerging designers under one roof. Its first edition, held in the Jardin des Tuileries, brought together around 30 exhibitors showing furniture, lighting, tableware and sculptural objects, and later editions have kept that intimate, spatially generous format rather than maximizing booth density. By timing itself to fashion week rather than the design calendar, Matter and Shape draws an audience that overlaps with Paris’s fashion and art crowds, positioning collectible design alongside couture and contemporary art within the city’s broader creative season.
