Design Week South Africa 2026 – Cape Town

Date

Oct 22–25, 2026

Location:

Cape Town, South Africa

Design Week South Africa – Cape Town is the Cape Town edition of Design Week South Africa, a nationwide design platform founded in 2024 by Margot Molyneux with Roland Postma and Zanele Kumalo, held each October as the second of the event’s two anchor city programs alongside Johannesburg.

Like its Johannesburg counterpart, the Cape Town program is assembled from independently run exhibitions, studio visits, walking tours, talks and product launches staged across the city’s creative venues rather than one central fairground. It follows the same four guiding themes of space sharing, collaborative growth, future archives and game-changing design, and keeps many events free to attendees to broaden access. The Cape Town leg gives the city’s design, craft and creative businesses a dedicated platform within the broader effort to grow South Africa’s design economy and its international visibility.
