Detroit Month of Design 2026

Detroit Month of Design is a month-long, citywide design festival held every September since 2011 and produced by Design Core Detroit, marking its editions as Detroit celebrates its status as the first UNESCO City of Design in the United States.

The festival features exhibitions, installations, product launches, studio tours, hands-on workshops and talks held in person, outdoors and online across the city. Recent editions have brought together roughly 250 creatives and around 95 events drawing an estimated 60,000 attendees. It is notable for being co-created with the community, with an intersectional curatorial committee selecting events each year, and it aims to connect Detroit’s designers, amplify their work globally and demonstrate the city’s design credentials.
