Vienna Design Week 2026

Vienna Design Week is Austria’s leading multidisciplinary design festival, held annually in Vienna since it was founded in 2007, with the 2026 edition marking its 20th year and programming spread across venues, studios, and public spaces throughout the city.

The festival explores design’s relationship to craft, industry, and urban life through curated formats such as STADTARBEIT, which pairs local manufacturers with international designers, and Passionswege, walking routes through traditional workshops and ateliers. It also features a Debut showcase for emerging talent, thematic exhibitions, city-based design challenges, and talks, spread across roughly 200 events citywide. Each edition is organized around a curatorial focus set by an independent association, with recent years exploring themes around lightness and material innovation. Vienna Design Week draws around 40,000 visitors and is considered Austria’s most significant design event.
